"Every institution is sustained not merely by its infrastructure, but by the conviction of those who teach within it."

The Foundation

The Academic Responsibility Beyond Classrooms

Across universities, colleges, and technical institutions, faculty members carry a responsibility that extends beyond classrooms โ€” shaping intellectual character, ethical grounding, and national consciousness.

In this continuum of responsibility, Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh has emerged as a collective platform that seeks to organise, guide, and strengthen the academic community with clarity of purpose and institutional commitment.

Who We Are

About ABRSM

ABRSM has consistently worked towards creating a cohesive academic fraternity across Central Universities, State Universities, Deemed Universities, Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic Institutions, Government and Private Degree Colleges. Its interventions have reflected sustained engagement with academic policy, teacher empowerment, institutional ethics, and the role of education in national development.

In Karnataka, this commitment has taken concrete form through structured programmes, faculty interactions, academic consultations, policy dialogues, and capacity-building initiatives โ€” strengthening institutional networks and reinforcing the centrality of teachers in educational transformation.

The Need

From Dispersed Efforts to Institutional Anchoring

Yet, a question persists. Can a mission of this scale continue to rely solely on dispersed efforts, without a dedicated institutional anchor? What does it mean for a community of educators to come together, not only in thought but also in shared space and long-term vision?

The Vision

Gurupatha: The South India Secretariat Vision

It is in response to this need that Gurupatha, envisioned as the South India Secretariat of ABRSM, assumes significance. Gurupatha is not conceived as a mere administrative building. It is envisaged as a living academic space, one that will facilitate dialogue, training, research engagement, policy discussions, and intellectual collaboration across disciplines and institutions.

It will serve as a centre where faculty members can converge, reflect, and collectively shape the direction of higher education in alignment with national priorities.

What We Will Enable

What Gurupatha Will Enable

Within Gurupatha, provisions are being planned for structured academic programmes, faculty development workshops, policy consultations, documentation of best practices, and a platform for inter-institutional collaboration.

It will stand as a repository of academic engagement and as a space that nurtures both professional excellence and institutional responsibility. The intention is to create a centre that belongs to the academic community and functions for its long-term strengthening.

From Vision to Participation

The question shifts from institutional vision to individual participation. What role can one faculty member play in shaping such a collective endeavour?

"Gurupatha stands as that opportunity โ€” where intent becomes structure, and commitment becomes legacy."
